Exploring the Italian countryside over the last several years and stumbling upon these picturesque abandoned structures has given me an insight into the Italian way of life from days gone by. They have served as full scale models for understanding the means and methods of rural architecture and construction across the Italian landscape. Weather, time, animals, and man have all contributed to their destruction and subsequent demise. I feel it is important to document these treasures before they are too far gone.
